The Guide is the first and probably the most important as you need him alive to summon the Wall of Flesh to get to Hardmode.
The merchant is one of the easiest NPC's to get only requiring 50 silver coins and an empty house
The Nurse is the only NPC that doesn't sell anything, she only heals you
The Dryad is a very useful NPC as it gives you the dryads blessing
